The word yoga comes from the sanskrit word yuj (pronounced yug) which means to yoke or unite. This is referring to the union of the individual consciousness (the soul) and Universal Consciousness (Spirit). It is that sacred union between the earth and the heavens that occurs within. So wherever you are in your life, or even in your physical body, yoga meets you there. If you can breathe, you can do yoga. It is for everybody!
